Brawl breaks out at Redskins-Jets joint practice

The Jets and Redskins will play in Thursday’s preseason game, but the teams should be fairly familiar with each other by then.

As Washington hosted the Jets for Sunday’s joint practice session, tempers flared and ultimately boiled over into multiple brawls between the two sides.

And here’s another angle:

According to Bleacher Report, fans of both teams started fighting after the teams were separated.

Fights are relatively common during joint practice sessions – almost expected. It was the first time the Jets had held a joint practice in 13 years, and heading into the weekend, Jets coach Todd Bowles tried to downplay the possibility of fights.

Via newyorkjets.com:

“Coach Gruden coaches his team well,” Bowles said. “It’s just talk and banter. We’re going down there for them to make us better, hopefully we make them better and we can get better as a team. Anything else to me is nonsense.”

So much for that.
